Questions on Credit Report After Discharge. Need Help.

Hi Everyone. I need some help here with my credit reports as I am completely confused. Discharge from CH 13 was on 9/11/14. I have since ordered my CR's from annual credit report. com and everything pretty much looks in order except missing mortgage info which is being dealt with through our atty. Mortgage was not IIB, but they kept reporting incorrectly. Anyway, on everything that was IIB in Experian is now showing "Discharged", this is good. On TU And Equifax it is not showing that as of yet. So my first question is, should I send a copy of the discharge to Equifax and Tu to have them update the IIB to include now discharged, or will that eventually happen? The reason the Experian now shows the discharge is because I was on the phone with them for a dispute and told them about the discharge and they went ahead and updated that discharge information for me.

Next question, during this time period from discharge of 9/11/14 until now, I joined my fico 3b reporting. I have since received  two credit reports as waiting to see if this mortgage comes back up. I received the first report free when I signed up. The second I just paid for to see if there were any changes. I also was looking to see if there had been any changes in my score, since alerts have not been happening, but yet getting alerts on from CK.  ( An ongoing issue with many signed up with 3B)

I have found that in comparison to the CR's received from annual credit report that the My Fico credit reports are not accurate at all.  Some accounts were not even showing IIB, but were correct on reports ordered from annual credit report. All accounts IIB that reflected discharged on Experian report from annual credit were not showing on reports pulled from 3 bureau. I could go and on. Too many errors to list here.

So the big question is how can my scores be accurate for lenders. If they pull my fico scores and the information on the my fico credit reports are not accurate. Doesn't make any sense to me to dispute anything seen on My Fico CR's if they are correct from the source that counts which is from annual credit. Very confused here. Am I to rely on the scores provided by My Fico as accurate, even though information listed is not accurate at all.

Maybe everyone was too busy TGIF partying? Smiley Very Happy

Since this forum is hosted - and moderated - by MyFico, folks are not going to want to be critical of any of their products. But, generally if 2 reports have diffferent info, it's generally more reliable to go with the one straight from the source.

This is true. It was Friday night.Smiley Happy

I understand to go with the more reliable, but do you see my point?

Anyway, if no one wants to touch that one, how about the discharge question on the CR.

Well, since you were successful with Experian getting them to correct everything with IIB over the phone why not try calling TU & Equifax and see if you can get them to correct everthing over the phone? If not ask them what is the fastest way to get a copy of your discharge to them, maybe you can upload or email them a copy.

They are aware of the discharge as it shows on the public record of the CR. Just not sure if I am still waiting for all creditors to update or should I go ahead and notify them myself.

Well again, since you were successful with Experian I'd say it's worth a call and find out.

That was during a dispute. Had a converation with a very nice man from Experian who just updated the accts for me. . Have no ongoing disputes on mine right now, they give you like 30 days to dispute. Will discuss with lawyer as just ordered my husbands CR's and just found 3 accounts that were inc in bk, not reflected as such by creditor and reported as delinquent. Also found three accounts that reported CO after the BK was filed. From what I am reading that is not legal. They can CO prior to the filing date, but not after. Imazing what you find a CR after BK discharge.  Also, none of the IIB accounts on TU and Equifax are listed as discharged yet. Not sure if the creditor is supposed to change this or not. So many questions, head is spinning.

Right, they can't show a CO after filing, I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to report them as late after filing. For me my TU report is always the most accurate, no accounts IIB ever show even late - one BoA Amex card that shows as never late on TU shows up as 30-60-90-120-150 late & CO on Experian, with that CO 3 mos. after filing, I'm disputing that. Yes, the creditor is supposed to report IIB & Discharged, but if they're not you can dispute that directly with the credit bureau.

Yes, I am reading this too, that they cannot report you as late or CO after the filing date. The same account can be correct on one report, such as Exp and totally incorrect on another such as TU. TU seems to be the worst on my husband. That is the one that have three accounts not even inc in IIB. I have got a long list of disputes here. I did not realize this when I was going through my CR. I had asked someone Equifax about this CO remark after filing. He said "Oh, its just an accounting term". Hmmm, I think its more than that. Really hurting the credit if reported after filing date.  Been researching for two days now getting prepared for these disputes. Showing a CO is far worse than showing on BK from what I am reading.

An interesting thread.
