Ready to file Pro Se.... Question regards forms....

Good Evening!

I been lurking the Bankruptcy board for awhile now, and I am getting ready to start filling out my paper work and move foward on my own and feel really comfortable on doing it on my own with the help of Nolo and a few books they provide. I do have a quick question, I do not have a middle name, should I put N/A or None in any lines that do not pertain to me? I am filing on my own, no second debtor as my husband is not filing with me ( I know I must include his income) but do I also put N/A or None on any line that would be technically left blank as it does not apply to me? Thanks for any assistance, as I wanted to get started on these forms. Thank you!!

Re: Ready to file Pro Se.... Question regards forms....

I filed Pro Se in June and waiting on discharge.   If I did not have an answer I just left it blank. I just reviewed the form you're asking about.   Long story short you fill it out as if he is filing  it clearly states "non-filing spouse"

Hope it helps and good luck.  Make sure you check if your state is under federal or state exemptions.    And if it is state.....List the exemption code.

Hi, you can always go to your court house and get help. I filed pro se and my BK was discharged. You can put n/a on the forms. Your trustee will contact you if there are any errors. They know pro se filers aren't experts.

Re: Ready to file Pro Se.... Question regards forms....

My courthouse has one on one counciling (free) with appointments to help.

Come prepared though.  So many waste their time; they get aggrevated.

You must use spouse income BUT you can also use spouse BILLS to offset.

Your spouse has a right to live a normal life.  Movies, cell phone, car payments, entertainment, student loans, etc.

I was told by 3 attorneys that there is no way I will ever qualify for Ch 7 due to total income.

I filed everything and outline spouse student loans, etc, and was approved.

ALSO - check into Joint Tenancy.  Some states say marriage items cannot be divided.

In otherwords, if you both own a $10,000 dining room table, it must be listed, but it may be exempt.

Honesty and humility is by far the best approach.

My trustee grilled the rich guy before me his awyer for an hour and could not have been nicer to me.
