Rebuild Recommendations

Hi all! I've lurked for a bit, but this is my first post. I filed ch.7 mid June and creditors meeting is scheduled for August 6. So barring anything crazy, hopefully DC by October 6ish. A lot of my bk was medical debt but there were also a few credit cards (Capital One x3 and comenity) and a One Main auto loan for a severely underwater car. I'll have to buy a new car within the next few months and am just trying to wait as long as possible (at least after dc). Currently driving a borrowed relative's.
I definitely want to start rebuilding asap, even just in the planning stage now.
I've gotten a pre approval letter for a Discover secured card (should I do that after dc?) But obvs burned Cap one a bit (around 14k). I am a member at a local CU (ORNL) but I'm honestly not sure if that's really helpful.
Current score is 498 ish across the board after 3 months of late payments, lots of medical collections, and the new bk public record. I'm hoping that increases significantly after DC!
So, advice on best way to attack this? Loaner for the auto after DC? Cards? Thanks for any help!

Re: Rebuild Recommendations

Welcome. You'll want to wait at least 30 days after DC. Your scores will more than likely get a boost due to your legally now out of debt. Check your full credit reports and make sure everyone had listed all accounts as IIB and 0 balance. Then you could grab that Disco secured. No secured Cap1. They dont graduate for now. Wait 3 months then grab Merrick. No complaints on here about them. And then a self lender loan for an installment mix. Dont rush it. The above should be over a 6 month period. Its not a race. But a marathon. You can ask all the questions you want while rebulding. Were here to help. Good Luck!
