Rebuild question

Just started my rebuild...I was discharged last week. I did reaffirm my car and applied for a Cap1 Platinum card and was approved for 2k.

Is that all I need for the time being?

Re: Rebuild question

I did the same as you. Reaffirmed with Cap. First card was the same at $1200. In 3 months use the upgrade link on the forum to upgrade to a QS and get some cash back. For the next 4 months that should do. Get some history behind you. Then hit up Disco. Its a slow process. Since you got an unsecured. Lets stay unsecured as I did. Congrats. Your on your way. Just take your time. Dont rush it. It will come.

Re: Rebuild question

I agree with above me build that card/work on it upgrade to the QS seems to be a popular upgrade one from them and build for a year.    After that I would start searching more options but start slowly so you don't look like a risk right out the jump

Re: Rebuild question

@justme79 - No, I didn't have Cap1 prior to this.

I'd rather not have any credit cards but I'm aiming for a FHA loan at the 2 year mark since renting is just becoming too expensive.

If you don’t mind me asking. What was your CS after discharge?

645, I believe although the Cap1 app said it was 665.

Great score for a recent BK discharge. I hope my score is there at discharge.
