Hello,
I had a BK discharged in Feb. 2018. I've had some bumps that messed up rebuilding at first but I've been on top of it since (my BK lawyer told me to stop paying on my car & motorcycle loans that I was keeping through the BK - which caused some issues that I rectified quickly, but that still shows negatively on my scores) VERY frustrating.
Then, I had a Jared card with a $10,000 limit that was really helping but they closed it because I hadn't used it in two years (literally about a week before I intended to use it to keep it "fresh"). This dropped my scores by @ 40 points
SO, I am now @ 648, 638, 650 (could be at 688, 678 & 690 had the Jared card not gotten closed!) and I need to purchase my car (my lease is up in August). Currently I have Toyota Financial services for my loan. I was wondering if anyone knows which scores they pull. Currently, for Auto loan scores, it appears that Equifax (my 648 score) shows the best scores for me if they use Fico Scoring 5 (score of 672). The others are considerably lower. I intend to put down more than half of what I will need to purchase the car, but I will still need a loan for $5-6 thousand but I'm afraid I'm going to have a hard time getting the loan.
I have my motorcycle loan through my credit union, but I'm not sure they'll give me another loan because one loan (personal loan) I had from them was included in my BK.
I'm already getting calls asking what my plan is when the lease is up, and although I know I'm going to purchase the car, I'm nervous that I won't be able to get a loan. I'm very open to suggestions as this will be the first thing I've tried purchasing since the BK.
Please let me know if you need further information to be able to assist.
That's reassuring. I hope that is the case. Thank you for your feedback.
I obtained a lease from Toyota Financial in March of last year and they pulled from Experian and my scores were in the same range as yours at that time. Good Luck!
Thank you!!
They also pulled Experian for me on a Camry Hybrid I bought the end of March.
Capital One was my best rate for a loan post bankruptcy. I own a 2018 Highlander and I'm sure they ran my credit thru every possibility.
@NibblesTreats - Were you able to secure a loan?
