What happens if someone I made an authorized user files for bankruptcy?

I am the account holder.

They are authroized users on several of my accounts.

I know this has no effect on my credit.

They are AU's on Comenity Cards, Cap1 Cards, Macys Amex, Bloomies Amex.

Will the credit card company close their card?

Could there be anyway that it spooks the credit card company and they close my line of credit?

Would they even know?

TIA.

I would remove them from all of your accounts - let things settle down - then think about adding them back later on

Why?

Are you supposing or do you know something?

Thanks

Re: What happens if someone I made an authorized user files for bankruptcy?

i am supposing only

however - given this comment by you, you are concerned about negative repercussions - and therefore should make sure you are protected

Could there be anyway that it spooks the credit card company and they close my line of credit?

Them being an AU right now,  is not going to give them any benefit anyway - since they are in bk and their scores wont matter for awhile

i just feel that it is better safe then sorry - maybe you can help them post BK, when all the paperwork is finished and they need to start working on their credit scores again

Re: What happens if someone I made an authorized user files for bankruptcy?

An authorized user is not obligated to pay. If you stopped paying the Authorized user wouldn't have collections after them, only you.

Meaning they arent in debt for those accounts, only you. They shouldn't be included in bankruptcy because of that.

Meaning they going in bankruptcy and the card getting notified of the bankruptcy shouldn't affect your account or credit report
