chapter 13 question

hi all, love the site..hoping you could give me an answer to something.

my wife and i filed chapter 13 july 2010..we're paying as agreed. can we apply for any credit secured or not just to rebuild a bit

or is that not allowed ?

I am not 100% sure but I think you need approval. 

 

I am sure some one with CH13 will chime in.

Any new credit or funding of credit requires Trustee Approval.

Lack of trustee approval may warrant a discharge dismissal - you don't want that.

 

 

(You do, in fact, want to be properly discharged - for some reason my brain cell keeps flipping these two terms.  Thanks chasmith.)

You DO want a discharge - you do NOT want a dismissal.

I think lack of approval could cause a dismissal, not a discharge.
