Congrats OP and gl on your personal rebuild.
Congrats!
Wex has been a savior to me, too.
Applied for Fuelman and a few others from Fleetcor. Not only was their customer service abysmal, but they denied me unless I PG'd.
Have to wait 6-8 weeks to get my $200 deposit from Caseys back. A deposit, mind you, they took in less than 12 hours from my submission of the form.
Enter Wex...
Wex gave me their Business Access Chevron Texaco, $5k limit. No restrictions on use in any gas station Wex is accepted at. Yep, I can walk in and buy a tank of gas and a case of beer! (but I'm treating this card like a baby, so no brewskis).
Wex has KILLER customer support.
So WEX is a universal card that can be used at anyone of these Gas locations listed, or only certain ones? And how are they chosen?
I see the Flexcard that can be used at most U.S. Gas Stations, with several logos.
But I also came across a site for just the Chevron/Texico card. This thread is titled Sunoco/Shell, so I was just wondering how to go about getting a more beneficial setup. I have a few ^ locally, and out of town they're easy to find. Same with Sinclair, but Shell and 76 are less abundant.
While I would prefer a broader use for the card, i do like Chevron/Texico.
@Anonymous
Use their search tool to find the qualifying gas stations in and around your area. Even though some are under the "chain" name does not mean they all participate.
Also, there are some stations that participate but the fuel card issuer may or may not charge a swipe fee. T&C should reveal but not always. You may need to call if the T&C is broad...meaning covers a few "like" products.
Intersting, thanks for the info.
I did read on the Chevron app that they're accpeted at "participating" locations, so definiely have some homework. Guess it's hit or miss. lol
I believe there was some discussion last year about the fees on other gas cards such as Fuelman etc.

Yes, and I had a thread on BP Solutions. So go to their tool and find your participating stations before apping for any of their products. Then call to clarify hidden fees...ie. swipe fees. Not everyone gets those fees, but we would have due to our location and the station availability.
The first CSR was unaware, I got lucky as he was out to lunch when I returned his call and a supervisor told me about the fees we would incur and to look into some of their other products. I was thankful, he canceled the app even tho it had been approved at $5k.
The other CSR returned yet another call to me and realized he was unaware of the search tool. He had to have been new. I had to tell him where to find it online and we tried all of their products and none were available in my area except for the BP product because it's a mc but that would have cost me big swipe fees all in all. Some love the cards; I would have loved having it but am glad to use amex and spark in order to keep it simple. One other thing; some charge an employee card fee too. Just ask a lot of ?'s.
I ususlly use my Amex Bonvoy BIZ for gas, but always looking to thicken my file if possible. And when I see non PG, well you know. lol
