Chase Ink Plus declined for too many accounts with them... Recon?

I've had an old Slate and CSP that were both opened up 2 years ago. I recently decided to open up a Freedom to get the extra UR last week, then a couple days later app'ed for the Ink Plus. The Freedom was ok'ed for 6k, but I got the 30-day notice from Chase. Just got the snail mail saying that I have too many accounts opened with them. I know they have the 5/24 rule which I should have cleared just fine, but I didn't think Ink Plus/Cash were included in that. FICO score's at 730, util's at 20% for some new-home spending that I plan on paying down soon. I didn't see any other anecdotal data points on other posts, but anyone think it would be a good idea to recon?

Sorry for denial

Moving to biz for help

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Ink's aren't included in the 5/24 rule.

But this sounds more like you've reached your overall internal limit with Chase.  I'd recommend calling and asking if you can close the Slate and move the credit line over to a new Ink.

5/24 definitely doesnt apply to their business cards.

There is no harm in calling to recon but their business analysts are usually more conservative than their regular CSRs.  There's a number in the backdoor numbers for business card recon.  You should call them.

So interesting turn... I called twice and have been told by 2 different CRs that the system auto-declines applications if you applied for 2 cards within 30 days and had at least 1 approval. I'm gonna try again in the morning just to see, but both CRs said that I should call back sometime after the 30th day from my Freedom approval. Didn't think that was an issue since one was a business card... Thoughts?

Side note, thanks for the replies so far! This board's such a wealth of info for me in the last couple years building up to my new home Smiley Happy

I also double apped for an Ink Plus and IHG, Ink was approved in a few days, but IHG was declined for same reason as yours. So it seems they do ocassionally have some type of limitation if they're not instant approvals. Oddly the Ink was approved for a rather large CL.
