Don't apply for the BJ Perks Mastercard or ANY comenity card.

Bj’s Mastercard will not support you if you have a dispute against a vendor that charges you for fraudulent activity. Do not waste your time applying for this card because their horrible customer service is not worth the benefits! They will always believe the vendor no matter how much proof you have.

Did you have the Business Version of this card?

Summary of your dispute?  when did the charge show up?  when were goods delivered?   What is the nature of the dispite?

When did you place the dispute?      Was it Chip/swiped?  Phone?

You always can sue the company that charged the card too

Hi @Anonymous, the thread you replied to is quite old so I've moved your post to a new thread.

Re: Don't apply for the BJ Perks Mastercard or ANY comenity card.

I only had a regular version of this card, and the sale was made over the phone. Purchase was made and within 16 days of purchase I was fed up with product not working even with all the extra vpn and WiFi extender products they told me to buy to make them work. These were streaming cable boxes, the service provided by Mylife Network was absolutely horrible in the area that I live...the signal was very minimal and extremely sketchy, I was never told that this issue could even be a possibility. Once I received these boxes, I opened them and tried to use them. The company says that once they are opened they are non-returnable. Well how would anyone even know if the product worked if you can’t even open it to see? I was also charged for more things than what I approved for them to use my card for. There is no proof on my end except text messages and emails of conversations between the owner and myself back and forth trying to get these pieces of garbage to work. All of the copies of conversations were sent to BJ’S MasterCard investigative team and they don’t care to even open the stack of proof I sent them. They only requested proof of delivery from the merchant and of course they have it. I never said I didn’t receive it, I said it doesn’t work! There is a difference.
It is what it is, I would have never even used the card if I had know that they would take the merchants side instead of standing behind their own long time good standing customer with a credit score of 827...Live and learn. Good luck if you choose to use the card!

I did a search on the product and the MLM behind it.  I wish you luck.

Re: Don't apply for the BJ Perks Mastercard or ANY comenity card.

I would dispute under "Not as Described or Defective Merchandise"

The BJs is a WORLD Mastercard...

and if that fails...

you can always start a lawsuit... might cost you a 1,000 but could be worth it...  at least threaten with one..

do they have a BBB page?

Did you Send it Back? Box it all up and send it back... and give that proof to the credit card company

Re: Don't apply for the BJ Perks Mastercard or ANY comenity card.

I have been disputing it for six months. The merchant stated I will not be refunded If I ship the product back, he said once it’s opened...it is not returnable. Problem is, how do you know if it works or not if you don’t open it??
Lawsuit would end up costing me more than this is worth. Boxes and charges were around $850. I don’t want to lose anymore money by creating a lawsuit!
It was great advice though,
Thank you!

I’m sorry to hear of your troubles and hope that it will eventually be resolved in your favor.  Just as a note and this applies to most, if not all, small business credit cards, but they do not have the same protections for consumers as personal credit cards do.  One of the downsides of having them.  I would actually like to hear from others as to how disputes on their business cards have been handled.  Fortunately I have no had that type of problem so I am interested to see how other creditors have handled them in the past.
