Just got an email from Delta (so I am assuming this is targeted) to upgrade my Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business to Delta Reserve Business with 60,000 SkyMiles and $300 statement credit after $4,000 spend in six months. Since my card renewed back in November, the prorated AF will make the AF a bit more palatable as well. That should net me about $1200 or so after the AF, so that was an easy decision to make!

I am curious, as I do not have Delta CC however I am near Delta Hub, what would be an average valuation of 60,000 Delta Skylines or average cents per mile - if I am expressing thus correctly?

For Main Cabin fares, the minimum value is 1.2 cents per mile (so 60k would be $720). If you have a Delta cobranded card, you are eligible for Pay With Miles which is 5k SkyMiles for each $50 increment, so 1 cpm that way - not the best value, but if elite status is at play, you do still earn MQMs that way (and MQDs and SkyMiles on any portion not paid with miles) whereas you don't with an award fare. I try to be selective when redeeming SkyMiles and try to get a minimum of 2 cpm, so 60k should be at least $1200 of value for me. With award sales it can be pretty easy to get more than that 1.2 cpm minimum on award fares, particularly in the forward cabin.

@Creditaddict anything in your Amex account itself perhaps? I didn't look there first before taking them up on the offer, but I've certainly had upgrade offers in my Amex account before in the past. 60k + $300 is much better than I got for a Welcome Offer for grabbing the Platinum SkyMiles Business to begin with a few years ago (and is better than getting a new Delta Reserve Business when the offers aren't elevated), although sadly no bonus MQMs with this deal.
FWIW, the new prorated annual fee minus the prorated annual fee refund was only $223.77. Of course since this is Amex, that AF was on the statement that closed about 36 hours after upgrading. 😂
Considering they gave me a $75 appreciation credit upon renewal, the wireless credits through the end of the year that will total $165, and the forthcoming $300 statement credit, I'm very happy.
I'm actually considering making this one my daily driver instead of the personal one since that spend won't show on my reports, although perhaps not until next year since I already have significant spend on the personal one this year and my understanding of the Status Boost (formerly Mileage Boost) is that you can only receive the bonuses on one Platinum or Reserve product even if you have both personal and business or two or more of the same card.
