Just applied and opened a Spark Business checking account, using my new EIN. The only problem I had was Captial One's application system flagged me as already having a Capital One 360 account, and I had to call in for verification.
A little confusing, as I figured the Spark Business stuff would be separate from my personal stuff, and it wasn't managed through 360. Guess not!
I had to provide my SSN during the account opening process - any chance that this is going to be a HP on my credit? None of the account opening literature mentioned pulling my personal credit. I am gardening, and not looking for another inquiry.

Based on the way CAP1 reports business on personal credit I'm not surprised that any banking features wouldn't be grouped together as well

May i ask how you were able to apply, I see your an LLC, LLC's are not allowed to apply for a Spark Checking at this time..... I just tried it and it told me it was unable to continue processing at this time it was a shorter mesage than you got, and i called and the rep said they don't have it open to LLC's yet and to keep checking back.

Not sure. I'm certain I filled out the app as an LLC, nothing else. The guy on the phone even verified my company info, which of couse says LLC in the title.

Did you go to the bottom of the first app page and choose structure as LLC and choose EIN? Thats what i did so my legal business name could have been put under my LLC instead of my name and use my DBA name and my EIN, and by doing so that kicked it out...... so i think you bypassed the system some how and i don't think opening a corporate bank account under the wrong structure is wise since all bank accounts are tracked by the IRS, just saying.
Apparently we both missed the part at the bottom that says "This product is currently available only to sole proprietor businesses" ![]()

Have you checked into whether Sole-Member LLC's are permitted?
I was lured into a branch to open a business checking account for a $250 bonus. I noticed that the online Spark offerings have lower fees, and no minimum balance, whereas the in-branch account required at least $2k to avoid the basic account maintenance fee. I was thinking of going to the Spark online account route.
*** Update ***
I thought i would take the time to update this post......
Yesterday I decided to see if i was able to open Spark Business Checking & Savings Accounts under my LLC and it let me do it...... i got the same message about it saying i already had a 360 account and i called the number and verfiied things with a nice rep and he even said it will say something about sending in documents but he said to ignore it as their backend team should be able verfiy everything without it and to look out for emails with 3 to 5 business days! ![]()
Strange, I've used Capital One Spark checking for almost 5 years now for my LLC. They opened it in the branch without a problem with it being an LLC at the time.
