I have the following Amex cards:
Personal Gold
Personal Platinum
Personal delta reserve
Personal delta platinum
Personal Blue Cash Everyday
Business delta platinum
Business Platinum
I want to add the Business Delta Reserve and Business Gold.
I want the business and personal delta cards to get the 4 companion certificates per year, and also get the $10,000 MQD headstart for delta status.
I want the business gold for the 4% MR points on electronics and gas. This makes the blue cash everyday obsolete.
I hate closing cards and haven't in years but I might end up closing the BCE if I need it's spot for another amex revolver. Currently I can get the delta reserve business and stay within the 5 revolver limit.
But will amex get concerned? I have the income to support the fees even without considering the credits. Does amex care outside of income and responsible use?

they might ask for bank statements when you apply, but if they haven't so far, I doubt they will now based on your extensive relationship with them already
if they aren't willing to extend you more revolving credit, they will simply pull from your current credit card lines to approve the new card
Ok that makes sense. Thanks for the insight.

Obviously, you can get the Delta Reserve Business and stay within the 5 revolver limit, since without it you only have 4 revolvers.
As to whether Amex would be concerned, I have no idea. From what you've described they would have no reason for concern.
I wouldn't use the BCE for business if I were you, since intermingling personal and business can cause legal, tax, bookkeeping, and accounting problems.
Should be fine as AMEX likes their AF's. I did some quick math in the head just for Amex and ouch lol. With that said didn't AMEX recently change one in card member family verbiage for bonuses? As you already have one delta card or that matter reserve. What you don't want to do is close any of those AF card for at least until they get to collect the AF after a year being try not to close prior to 2 years on any of those big AF as they give big bonuses as well if you want to stay in their good graces and not have to possibly deal with RAT team
I can add that I currently have:
2 Personal Revolvers
1 Personal Charge
1 Business Charge
5 Business Revolvers
I've been with AMEX forever. I haven't been stopped yet...and agreed with @CreditCuriosity they do love their AF's and I think I'm at my own tipping point of I have enough AMEX AF's in my life for the moment.
They do permit you to combine CL's (Personal to business or personal to personal but NOT business to personal) if that interests you.
I'm looking at closing an AMEX revolver then opening it back up a few months later to get another 0% APR period.
You'll just have to make decisions on it.

How did you manage to get seven revolvers when their limit is ostensibly five?

I think the short answer to that is that it's not a hard-and-fast limit. If they like you, the limit goes out the window.

Pretty much @SouthJamaica
I would tend to say those limits aren't set it stone...sorta like how we all talk about Chase's 5/24 then we hear about people exceeding that with new approvals.
They certainly don't have an issue collecting all my AF's and even so...they are always offering me more cards...with AF's of course...but as an example, already having the Plat...they are always preapproving me for additional ones when I log in to manage that same account. I think the rules are flexible depending on your spend, time with them etc...
