Re: 2 Issues. Denied & can not access my credit report. No score w/ Experian due to 6 mo no re

Received Am Ex letter today as to why I was denied:

"File not scored because subject does not have sufficeint credit. (Trans Union)

My first step in working to bring my score back us is for the Chase Acct. to strart reporting my AU status.   I have tied my SS # to that account.   Chase said it is scheduled to report on the 22nd of this month.   Once it shows will check back on my credit reports to see if it is indeed reporting.

Will report back after the 22nd and work on next steps.

First off thank you all for taking the time to help me out.   Got my issue resolve and it was that Chase was not reporting.  Had them add my SS number and is now report and saw a 107 pt increase so up to 747 on TU.

Next will be a seperate post to get advice on how to increase both my wifes (hers are all in the 780+ range and up) and my scores.

Again, appreciate the help and advice.

Re: 2 Issues. Denied & can not access my credit report. No score w/ Experian due to 6 mo no re

I'm a relative newbie on this site as well, so don't pretend to be very knowedgable.  As far as Vantage scores go, I think of Vantage as a "what have you done lately" score - it looks to me like they don't pay much mind to closed accounts, or maybe even CO's.  I have a CO from 2018 that I have (just) paid off "for less."  It was Cap1, so they wait 22 days before reporting, and I have 5 days to go. I'll be interested to see what happens to my FICO score, which should increase because FICO was counting the unpaid balance of 6k against a total limit of just over 10k, so my ulitization is bad.  I have awhile ago paid off everything else.

With this in mind, note that my Vantage score is 770, and my FICO score is 661.  As others have said, you have to access your FICO score, Vantage is more or less a curiosity.  It's possible you're being denied because of a low FICO, among other things.

Good luck.
