2nd Disco Card Question

I would like to have the It Chrome card to go with my It card. I know you have to wait 1 year to app for a second card with them, but I am wondering if it is 1 year total or for me and my case would it be one year from the date I graduated?

Anyone know if it matters? My cash back match includes the secured part and my date on the card includes it... so I'm thinking it would be one year from the initial secured card. Not sure tho.

Maybe it was Reddit...But...

On the 13th statement you can apply for a second card.

2 Discover Cards total allowed.
OR
1 student card total allowed.

Still no true confirmation you'll get the double cash back for the first year again.

Thanks. If no cash back match maybe I would just skip it and keep trying for CLIs... tho today that seems impossible since I never get them.

Dj you could always go for a miles and you would get double the first year as thats a completely different product than It

Just ask Humu, she recently got a second Disco, the Miles, card and i also believe Pizza1 did too.

How do you know if it's the student card or not? I did put down student when I app'd for the secured card but I don't know since I've graduated which one I am.

AveragesJoes is correct. You will receive double miles ( or double cash back) for the first year on the Miles card, even if you already have the regular Discover it card. This would occur because you are a new Miles cardholder. I have confirmed this directly with Discover (both a manager and a CSR). Hope this helps.

Discover does require you to have your regular it card for one year before you can apply for a Discover Miles card.

I cannot speak to the rules for secured cards, student cards, nor chrome cards, as I don't have any of these.

You mentioned above that "they require you to have your regular it card for one year before you can apple for a discover miles card"... is that just in reference to people who already have an it? Or even if you have zero discover products, you HAVE to get the it/chrome and have it for a year before even being eligible for a miles? Like. Is it possible for the miles to be your first discover card?

No you just need to have one card for a year before applying for the other card product. If you have it, wait a year for miles.... miles wait a year for it.
