I would agree with OP and try with Cap1. They have a section on their website where you see if you pre-qualify for any of their cards.
I can also attest to how much a divorce can mess you up financially.... been there... done that. You can get your scores to improve... it will take some time.
Just tried the Cap1 pre-Qual page and they said they have "no offers" for me at this time...

Credit Karmas recommendations are unreliable and useless...
Cap one prequalify is reliable..
If you want a Discover.... apply for the *secured* Discover not the regular one...
You don't need Credit One..... your very likely to cause more problems than you need with it..
And.... the only thing CK is good for is seeing your reports.. the scores and recommendations are useless ....
