5/3rd Bank - Update on CLI

This is an FYI post. 

I spoke to a rep today to request a CLI on my 5/3rd Trio card.  After going through 3 different reps verifying my info, I was told that they could make the request but they will be doing a hard pull and their CLI are capped at 3k.  I opted not to do that as I was seeking at least 8k increase.  The rep then said he was not sure if they will be lifting the cap after the first of the year, there have been rumors but nothing solid and I may have better luck applying for a 2nd card.  Just relaying info for inquiring minds and those keeping track of this type of info.

5/3 customer-initiated CLI requests are always HP. Auto-CLIs are possible, but they're not very common.

I'm not aware of any CLI caps unless it's something new or recent since I received an auto-CLI beyond the stated cap earlier in the year 🤷‍♂️

The only other cap or recent policy that I'm aware of is newer 5/3 customers are now limited to 2 credit cards as the maximum. Those who have/had multiple CCs are grandfathered under the old policy.

Hmmm, I don't know unless this is something new. In 8/2021 I called and asked for a CLI on my TRIO card, it was at $12,000 and I asked for $25,000 and it was approved while I was on the phone. I have others with them but I only asked for the TRIO as it is my favorite one at 5/3. They keep sending me 0% balance transfer checks but I have no need so they go into the paper shredder. I get the checks on my other two accounts as well, not just my Trio card.
