Thank you for the info!
Now what happens if I want to apply for both the Discover It and the AMEX PRG at the same time? Would it be a successful move? Someone said on here recently that it's bad to do an "app spree" if the bank pulls the same bureau? I think AMEX pulls Experian and Discover TU, right?

amex definately pulls Experian, for me Discover pulled Equifax, Good luck :-)
So, I guess the app decision will be final here coming up in the next two weeks! Thank you guys! I am going to apply for the AMEX first AMD then the Discover last. I'm going to have the recon numbers ready right beside me just in case.
By the way, what utilization shall my BoA Cash Rewards card be at whenever I app? It's a $750 CL and I'm currently reporting at 6%. What would be the best for when I am ready to submit?

Your util should be fine where it is when you app. Good Luck !!

Your Util should be fine, but for reference, I was in your exact situation 4 months ago. I had exactly 6 months of history, a $12,000 income (18 years old), and 3 inquiries on Experian with discover reporting at 2%. BTW I was instantly approved for $8,000 so I would say you are a shoe in. ![]()

@Anonymous wrote:But I am saying if I do get the PRG and I cancel it out before the annual fee, would that have any effect on my scoring and AAoA? It wouldn't show up as "closed account" for future references? What even about my chances of having another card with AMEX after you do that?
It will show up as closed. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Talked to an Amex rep the other day about closing my Green card and whether that would affect my chances of getting the BCE and he said not at all.
While I would never trust a rep with this (they don't make the decisions), I think it's true with all issuers that it's not a problem until and unless there is a clear pattern of signing up for bonuses and closing before an annual fee comes due. There are lots of innocent reasons for it to happen once or twice ("I thought that the PRG would be good for my spendig patterns, but now I've tried it, it's not a good fit [maybe too little flights from airlines, or using a different card for groceries etc])
I hate to crash this party
but with such low income - why incur an annual fee ?
And I don't agree with getting a card with the intention of closing it within 11 months

Right, but that's just your personal preference, for others it makes sense.
Holy moly @ 14Fiesta! That's insane! Which cards did you have first and was your foot in the door with Discover (or AMEX) before they gave you such a big limit?

Those are my only two cards at the moment. Discover approved with literally zero history, and gave me 500 to start, bumped up to $750 a few months ago. My BCE was my foot in the door and what established my MSD of 2014. AMEX is relaxed on thin files as long as you don't have a crazy amount of inquiries, low utility, and NO NEGATIVE INFO.
