A question about fraud alerts

Hi everyone.

I have a fraud alert on my CRs.  Ive had it on since 2/16.

As you see in my siq, my scores are not dredful yet I can not get ANY pre-qualify from ANY site. I cant even get a prequalify from Millstone

All baddies ( 8 accts 8 CAs ) almost 7 years old.  PERFECT history for the last 6+ years. I cant even get a pre-qual from

Cap1 and i have 2 accounts almost 10 years old. Inqs ( 20/7/14  but more then half are over a year old )  15% util

Question is, Is this the Fraud Alert holding me back? There are a couple of cards Id like to app for but I dont want HPs as im kinda gardening

If it is the FA blocking pre-quals, how fickle is Amex with 6 year old baddies. ( none of them an Amex )

Second card is a Barclays card but i burnt them back in 2010 so im scared on pulling the trigger

Any help would be great

Thanks

>3/2016 EX 644 CK-TU 642 CK-EQ 660 WalMart- 671.
>5/2025 All 3 reports 845 - 850(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

A fraud alert will automatically opt you out from recieving preapprovals

How long ago? it took several months for me to start getting preapprovals again after I opted out for a mortgage then opted back in.

Re: A question about fraud alerts

I joined here a month ago so id have to say 2-3 weeks ago.  did it again today just in case.

ok, might have used the wrong term.

I am referring to  PRE QUALIFY offers when you soft apply on their websites.  Not preapproval letters in the mail

Re: A question about fraud alerts

Give it a bit more time for prequals to start showing up (can take time before the CRA's sell your info to CC companies)

as for amex... your EX scores is likely too low for them right now

Re: A question about fraud alerts

Yeah i know my EX needs some caffine.

I called Amex and asked them if a FA blocks the prequalify process but couldnt get an answer.

Im thinkng that it does. Kudos for the help

Re: A question about fraud alerts

Even if you opt in pretty sure the fraud alert has to be removed to get pre-qualified

I have a fraud alert that was put on by Equifax when I tried to correct my last name. After that the pre-qual sites show me no luv( not even Miestone), so I think you may be right

Re: A question about fraud alerts

I agree.  It makes sense especially with my super positive history with Cap1 and BoA who i cant even get a secured card offer from. Must be the FA ( with a lil help from my

EX score )
