I did consider pulling them through Experian and then cancelling, but as far as I can see you have to call them to cancel.  I have a deep loathing of having to call.  I've wasted too many hours of my life doing that as it is.  Smiley Happy

I feel ya .. on the call to cancel thing.

To answer your question, apply when you need the revolving credit now or later, up to you. Your FICO score appear fine.

Check the CITI prequal to see if you have any offers.

Citi Pre Qual is not that accurate, seen people not pre qualify, then cold app approved. JMHO

I did not know that. Good to know.

Interesting.  Thank you.  The "How do I cancel my subscription?" link on the FAQ says call this number so we can put you on hold for two hours before running you around in circles in an attempt to provoke you into giving up.

Re: AAoA - When to Apply?

Take the hit now and get it over with. Also grab those true FICO scores. lol

There's nothing to be gained by waiting. IMHO and experience, AAoA has very little to do with whether an FI will approve you or not.

From what you've shared, your chances look as good as any!

Timing is a big part of how this works.

Grab it while the older auto loan is still active on your CRs.

BM7 aka @Anonymous  is a resident expert on the thresholds.

Just not something I spend time worrying about.

Your scores will continue to rise as long as your bills are paid on time.

@VintageMel I've got to agree with @Gmood1 . Get it now! There's no benefit to waiting. As a matter fact it just takes longer for you to get out of the new account scorecard, if you space them out throughout the year.

I don't know if your mortgage is still open or not but if it's not, and this car loan closes, you're gonna lose points. So you may want to do it before then. Plus when the new lease hits it's going to lower your average age which depending on threshold could cause you to lose a couple points not a great deal.

Last the ding from your inquiry for lease may not of hit yet, since it usually has a 30 day buffer. So if you apply now before that hits, that's still a couple points higher.

Considering you have a score that supports it, as long as you have DTI and income that support it go for it now. No benefit to waiting.

You only have 2 revolvers, I recommend a minimum of 5. You could definitely pick up 2 right now, possibly all 3. If so, get all three and then go to the garden and lock yourself in. Your scores will come up with time and these accounts being older will help.

Re: AAoA - When to Apply?

And by the way you could get the 3% card through AOD instead of a 2% card. Something to think about or you could get both!
