This.
Just curious, why are you guys going for early CLIs when you know its 61 days with Amex? To me its just asking to get flagged.. is 61 days too much to wait? heh

I did it because I'm an impulsive idiot. Can't speak for others.

There have been many reports of successful early increases so some have felt emboldened to risk it. Personally, I'm chicken so I'm waiting.
Op i think you need to wait for the letter and see the reason. If its because of ineligibility, then you can ask again on your 61days.if any other reason, i think you need to wait 90 days. Recently members have been confirmed that amex change/drop the 61 days mark and allow you to ask sooner. So you maybe denied because of your profile.
I got an early increase, 2 weeks before my time was up. I hear that the waiting 61 days is over and many have gotten it early. I think as long as your profile meets their criteria you will get it.

This. I was declined on my 61x request and one of the listed reasons was not enough history with AMEX (other was length of time having credit and recent inquires). No big deal, I get it and have zero issue with it. When you are a rebuilder I need to get a longer history established.
@slund5499 wrote:Tried the AMEX 3 CLI earlier than 61 days and, of course, got denied. Do I need to wait 90 days to try again or would I still be eligible for 61 day after account opening?
Anyone?
I was under the impression that if it was declined, you had to then wait 90 days. Could be wrong, but I thought that was why it was usually suggested to wait for 61 days.

90 days is what the AMEX CSR told me.

So is that 90 days - Post the 61 days or is it 90 days since opening the account?
