Apparently, my past sin with an Amex initiated cancelled account almost 10 years ago might be the reason why they denied it. The rep said it's still pending, but will most likely not be approved. What gives, got my scores out of purgatory and still. I can't even book a trip with my Amex Delta platinum because of the low limit of $1700. So when I book my trip, I won't get any of the perks associated with Delta because I'll use a different card, and take my 3% on travel. 🤦🏾♂️

You can overpay your DL card to temporarily increase the limit for larger purchases.
One way is with Amex's make payment, or bill pay via your bank
Amex cards have flexible limits. You can call in to ask them to approve the charge for over your limit. There's no guarantee they will. They may want proof you can pay. Anything over the limit is due along with the minimum.

In general, is more difficult to get a CLI if you were ever in their Optima program?

I have no idea. My previous account never was delinquent, they just did a random credit pull and closed my account because of my score...

IF your request is denied, please let us know the reason after you get their letter.

Let us know what the letter says when you receive it. It's possible it may still reference the 'issue' from your previous cancelled account or it could be something else altogether.

I wouldn't feel too bad if it did...because I'm guessing it can't be my scores...but who knows lol. But I'll definitely share once I get it!

Turns out they did not deny the increase, more so countered and doubled my limit, from $1700 to $3400...no letter in the mail as of yet, and no notifications. I just logged in this morning to pay the damage we did at a restaurant this weekend lol. It wasn't the 3x, but I'm happy nonetheless. Cheers

even though it wasn't 3X, congrats on getting the increase
