AMEX 61 Day CLI

Tapped the luv button and requested 3xCL. Next window said letter in 7-10 days. Recieved email saying to call to discuss?? Doesn’t sound good.

Call is better than instant denial. Good luck!

Re: AMEX 61 Day CLI

Can you share a little more please, some DP's on scores, history with Amex, usage and balance on card. It helps the community out if someone in a similar situation as yourself may be thinking of hitting that button.
Also calling in is not always a bad thing, Amex will instant deny you if they are not happy with your profile, so the fact they haven't might be a good sign.
Good luck.

Re: AMEX 61 Day CLI

Not NECESSARILY a denial, but it might be. In my experience, CLIs with Amex have always been instant, but I’m sure there are people who have gotten the 7-10 day message with success.

The 7-10 day message is usually a denial and the invitation to call can usually be ignored since it will just reaffirm that you have been denied.  In a few days you will receive a notice of Adverse Action letter that will most likely cite your FICO scores as the reason for the denial.  Amex usually expects your EX FICO score to increase, or at least remain stable, if they are to grant a CLI after 60 days.  In your case your FICO scores have significantly declined.

This denial also means that you have to wait at least 90 days from the CLI request date before submitting another request.  Any attempt before 90 days have elapsed will be automatically denied by their system. If I were in your position I wouldn't make another request until my EX FICO scores recovered.

Re: AMEX 61 Day CLI

Apparently miscalculated the 61 days. I did receive my 61 day cli. Didn’t go 3x, went for 17K in stead of the full 18K and was approved. Thanks to all.
