AMEX Auto Decline...Again

I previously posted about an auto decline situation I had with AMEX when being added as an AU for them. This seemed to stem from an account that I had with them that they put into collections but was being PiF via a repayment plan due to hardships (six months of unemployment due to a job change). I never missed a payment on this and the account was in good standing on all my credit reports; so I was a little surprised when I was denied to be an AU. After contacting AMEX they stated that the previous account meant I was in bad standing with them though it was considered in good standing with bureaus; I was annoyed but understood. Fast forward a few months the account is entirely paid in full (significantly earlier than agreement that would have taken until Mid-2023) and I am added as an AU on the Delta Reserve Card without issue.

I recently saw that AMEX has the Rose Gold card avilable with the 60K signup bonus and 4K spend over six months. This card would be perfect for my needs and the benefits more than make up the AF for me. I applied and just like when I apped for the AU; I was instantly declined. There was no credit pull which tells me it's the same system kicking me out again. When I was auto declined for the Delta Reserve Card I was approved after talking to the recon line and explaining that the previous account was paid in full and was in good standing. Referencing my credit report as well and the agreement we had come to in order to make AMEX whole and not burn any bridges (for lack of a better words). After they saw this I received an email within 30 seconds I was approved and card was being shipped.

With all that said, is it worth calling them again for the Rose Gold? I know this is a different situation as this is my card and my credit, and not being an AU like before; but may not hurt to ask?

Re: AMEX Auto Decline...Again

You can try reaching out and see if it yields anything, but just be aware that the Delta Reserve was an AU addition in which you were not the primary applicant.

If the denial letter keeps referencing the same information as far as AmEx closing your account (as with the previous declined application), it appears you're still on their blacklist.  So, the following response from your previous thread may still apply:
