I recently got an invite to apply to an AMEX blue cash everyday and I also went to the website to prequalify and the same card came up. The question I have is about the household income on the app. I'm currently a self employed/grad student but my fiancee is salary so she makes the bulk of the income. The HHI is around 115k. my fico's are all around 640-655 at the moment, I have 55% utilization which i plan to pay off within the next week before i apply. so hopefully I'll get a good bump. I also have a Macys charge off that falls off by August, paid tax lien from 2010, and 3 lates on student loans from 2012. Bad i know, wasnt really educated on credit back then. SL were suppose to be deferred. I have a mortgage(6mths), auto loan(2yrs), cc's all in good standing. I have my Cap 1 with a 3k limit(7yrs), Barclay 4k limit(AU) and Care credit 8k limit(AU). I'm looking for a good rewards card to have so I'm looking at AMEX and/or Discover for my food, travel, gas etc. I've been reading mixed statements about the HHI and not sure which way to go. Especially since I'd have to put the entire mortgage payment on the app. Sorry for the long paragraph, any advice about HHI and approval chances is greatly appreciated
Put down HH income of 115k. I would be concerned that your FICO are low for AX approval standards and you still have some baddies showing, but it might not hurt to apply. AX pre-approval is legit. Good luck!
Thanks . I'm hoping that paying down my CC balance will boost my score a bit😀 I'll probably wait until the charge off falls off too
