AMEX BCE and ACE SL Explanation?

Hey guys! I was recently approved for the AMEX BCE and ACE (Stoked!!!) couple baddies still on the account and 660 scores across the board. Was just curious that i was approved for a SL of $500.00 (not complaining) just happy and it will help continue my rebuild. I read from the board a couple people app for another card and decided i do the same. I was more shocked I was approved SL for $5000.00. I was like wow! So anyone knows or have a clue why the such a big jump in the SL? One more tidbit. With the BCE it was pretty much instant, while the ACE took days...... Anyone?

Re: AMEX BCE and ACE SL Explanation?

I'm not sure how it's decided but I had similar variances in SL's. Applied for Ed and Insta approved for 500$ SL a week later Applied BCE and Insta approved for 2000$.

I was tempted to app again for the Delta to see if it keeps getting higher but I've applied for too much credit since I started my credit journey in January and have decided to enter the garden.

I do think different cards yield different SL thresholds for the same credit profile but that's only speculation.

Not familiar with the abbreviation for ACE. Which card is that?

Was it two seperate pulls? I'm guessing these are both AMEX cards and I've read that if you are an existing cardholder the additional cards don't necessarily require a HP.

Re: AMEX BCE and ACE SL Explanation?

Sorry guys my bad. Supposed to be AEC (Amex Everyday card)

Thanks for replying. As far as the BCE, I didn't get an HP, but the Everyday Card I got hit with the HP, then a couple days after the HP I got the "Approved" in the Amex app status page. Maybe they looking for more customers, but take a closer look when you app for another card. I mean I'm like **bleep**, not complaining, but going from a SL 500 to 5000 is such a big jump....why not just give me 5000 on both? LOL!

Thanks. I figured it was the Everyday (ED) card but was trying to see how you got to ACE Smiley Happy. Interesting to know that they started your BCE at $500 but your ED at $5000 only weeks apart. I have the BCE and was hoping to add the ED later on. That was a useful datapoint for me. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully you're read up on the 3X CLI info after 60 days. You may have some more love for Amex after that Smiley Happy

Re: AMEX BCE and ACE SL Explanation?

I don't really have an explanation for it but they did me the same 2 months ago. Got approved for 1000 on the everyday card (asked for 3 times CLI the same day and was approved to 3000)... A week later applied for Blue Cash Everyday and was approved for 5000.

Yeah, sorry about that. It was the ED. Can't wait for the 60 days to come by, it is fun to see your scores go up. If you think about it, its like a RPG Smiley Happy

The only guess why they started me at BCE with 500 is it was a soft pull, but with the HP on the ED made a differnce? I'm guessing here, but maybe thats why?

Anyway, I am happy regardless, since now i am part of the AMEX family, time to go gardening again. Well, until the 60 comes up Smiley Happy

I can say one thing, this community is great! I'm glad there are more people here willing to help then trolling....
