AMEX CLI Question

This question is directed towards my gurus...Mods please move if I'm in the wrong area.

Ok, so I've read the 3X CLI guide and I also know there has been great debate over whether or not one should ask for a CLI 181 days from approval or activation.  However, my question is if I was approved on 12/02/2015, received and activated my BCE on 12/07/2015, AND requested an increase upon activation on 12/07/2015 (approved for $5k, requested 3x and countered with $10k), is it 181 days from the date of my last CLI on 12/07/2015 at activation OR is it from the date of approval?  Suppose I'd been denied at activation, most would say 181 days from approval...I'm just trying not to ask too early.  Had I been denied an increase upon activation, I would've gone 181 from 12/02/2015 which would be today.  Basically my question is...Would an increase upon activation be considered my last CLI (although the my first) or would I still use the date of approval for my 181 days...Thoughts?

Re: AMEX CLI Question

CLI is from the date of the last CLI you receive i.e. The one where they countered 10k.

I thought so but wasn't sure since it was at activation.  Thank you.

Went thru the same thing last year december. Got 2x cli at activation and now my due date is june 10th which is 6 months or 181 days, from the date of the cli. It does count as a cli whether you do it at activation or 2 days later. So if you were given anything as far as a cli, it is 181 days after that when you can be eligible for the next one.

Going through the same thing right now.  Just added a bit wrong and asked too soon and got a letter stating so.
