I hit the CLI window where I can ask for an increase from 15k to about 25k. It was quickly approved for 20k but was also asked to link an account or submit some statements (the last 3 months I believe). I have no problem with doing so but I'm okay with the limit of 20k and wondering if I even have to submit/link bank accounts at this point. The few eyes on my personal bank account the better, I suppose.
Has anyone experienced this before?

Yeah it happens with AmEx. Means you've probably reached the limit of what they're willing to give you without the bank statements to backup/verify your stated income. If you don't submit them they'll likely leave the Limit at that $20K and future request will also probably require the same requested bank info.
I asked for an AmEx CLI once that resulted in the tax form request, which I ignored. I accepted a lower CLI offered without the documentation requirement and went on my merry way. Within a couple years I was able to do another (modest) CLI without providing any tax info or other documentation to them.
Going through this with the wife's 3x CLI. Since her name did not appear on the accounts when I allowed them to see my banking, it was rejected and was told to send in statements (the statements have her name on them). Just uploaded the statements, and was given the 7-10 day message. I wonder how long it will take them to deal with this? I hate 7-10 day messages, to me it means denial
