I've had my American Express card for 7 months now and tried for a CLI from the $1,000 I started with.
One of the reasons was Account too new.
Does this mean I'm stuck at $1,000 until the 1 year mark?
This sounds like it may be a case of it being "a reason" but not "the reason." Do you have bankruptcy, chargeoffs, collections, lates, judgments, etc. on your reports? $1000 is often a marginal approval and many people struggle to get higher limits with Amex if they have a blemished past.
Yes I have a deliquency that falls off very soon.
I will try again then

That very well may be the issue. You will need to wait 91 days after the date of your denied request or it will be automatically denied. Best of luck!
Just double checking, this card was issued by AMEX and is not a co-branded card ?
It's a American Express Delta Skymiles Blue card
We look forward to seeing your CLI posting in approvals 91 days from now
@Anonymous Sadly I have heard it can be 2 years to get off that boat. I am in your same situation without the Delinquency and no matter how I flipped and turned it to make them happy still NO SOUP FOR ME and another member told me that with a lot of starter limits (those of us that squeek in lol) it's a 2 year before they see a first CLI but they are generous afterwards....I really hope that is true since my 2 years hits Dec this year. YMMV of course but speaking from my experience
Good to know. I run about $4k a month through it and was hoping that would help.

I think the $1000 almost tells the story.
