I checked the pre qualify site and just saw the offer of 15,000 pts but thats for the EveryDay Preferred card wth the AF. Do they also sometimes offer it fr the no AF ED card?

Has it ever been higher? And if so, to what frequency?
I'm considering applying for this card as my next AMEX, but am in no rush, and obviously want to get the best bonus reward I can.

Yup. Theres an offer for 25k MR points after 2k spend in 90 days. Have seen this offer as a online targeted, but moreso after a person checks online for prequal often and let the competitive mailers come in.
We are talking a trivial amount of MR though.
Better to look at how much you can spend in 90 days. Better to go for ED and 1 charge card (either PRG or Platinum)
If you only have 2k to spend in 90 days, go for the ED and PRG, if you can spend 4k, then get the ed and the Platinum.
Could someone get Platinum or PRG and downgrade to a lower AF charge card? Is that something people do?
oh ya, the green is 95 a month. Or you could just close it too.... funny thing is, the green and platinum both earn the same number of MR points in terms of spending.
If you close it, what happens to your points?
Thats why I was saying earlier to get the ED along with it as a no AF place to park MR points. Or just transfer all your MR points...
As far as justifying the AF... well lets see, after the 50k bonus and $200 in airline gift cards, maybe, why would a person want to continue on paying $95 a year for the green card that earns the same 1 point per dollar like the platinum, when you could basically rationalize it as $195-$100 a year?
If you have delta near you the 2 MR points per dollar on gas and restaurants are nice, you can get over 2 cents a point in return depending on how you travel:
Airline transfer partners:
Star Alliance: Air Canada Aeroplan, Singapore, All Nippon Airlines
Oneworld: British Airways, Iberia
Skyteam: Delta, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, Alitalia, Aeromexico
Other: Airtran, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic, El Al, Frontier, JetBlue, Hawaiian

Oh, that's smart. Thanks...SOmething to think about.
I saw the 50,000 miles bonus for the PRG and wanted to apply. However when I log into my account, as I have an BCP card, the bonus drops down to 25,000 points. So to let you know if you have another AMEX card you won't get the full bonus. I guess you only do if they actually send you an offer in the mail.

How did you get that offer? Is that an email sent to you? Or was that a pop up when you logged into your account?
Neither. I don't actually have an Amex yet.
Those offers came up when I checked Amex's prequal offer earlier this month.

False.
This is the whole point of the incognito window. I was already a member with Amex with ED and got both the PRG bonus and a Delta Gold bonus (both higher than normal promo).

Hmmm. Interesting. Maybe those offers are more likely to pop up for people who don't already do business with them.

I see going in Incognito works with getting the full bonus. However it says if you are a member already you may not get the bonus. So if you actually did then that is awesome. I hope it works that way when I try to get it.

you are right I Forgot to mention 15k offer. Its after 1k spend in 90 days, more common than the 25k offer.
I'm tellin ya folks, if you want better APR with citi check prequal often and let the mailers come. And for amex, excluding the PRG/Plat offer, if you want the better signup bonus for BCE ($250) or ED, check for prequal and let the mailers come rolling in....
Ah, so that's why Amex is 'courting' DH who has no Amex cards as primary. Thanks.
