Re: AMEX Everyday Preferred Pending App - CSR responses have varied.

Amex primarily pulls EX, almost exclusively. TU pull is rare. As far as the INQ's, it's crazy: I'm signed up on all 3 CA's for their reports and scores. I get alerts from TU for INQ's, new accounts, etc.. on both EQ and EX before either of them actually contact me or show them on their own reports. In other words, when Amex pulled my EX, TU alerted me two day's earlier than EX did. EX always lags behind both TU and EQ, and TU is unbelievably fast with alerts. This has been my experience with the three while being signed up with all of them since Feb.

Just checked my fresh Experian report from FICO and it shows nothing from American Express.

And no I haven't applied for any other American Express card in the past 30 days or else it would've showed on my credit report and my initial application would've been instantly declined.

I had the same 2nd pending app issue and was declined. No second HP either. Got my letter in the mail and discovered that they used a SP from April for the app. I'm an AU on my mother's account and that's where they got the lower score. They didn't use the higher score from my Delta approval a week prior. I didn't bother to call to recon since members say they don't. We think about another app when the 30 days are up.

Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!

If you have an existing Amex card and apply for new one, you will not be hit with a HP unless app is approved.

I feel like CSRs are never consistent with each other. And Amex is one tough cookie from what I've seen.

Re: AMEX Everyday Preferred Pending App - CSR responses have varied.

Hmm, kinda sucks the CSRs were giving you the run around.  I did a similar thing, saw my EXP jump to the 640s back in Jan and tried for a PRG I believe, declined Smiley Sad. Next month in Feb they jumped again to 666, I tried for the Gold Delta, it went pending and then less than 24 hours later got an email saying it was approved.  I'd aim for your EXP being at least 660 before trying again...
