Was AmX included in the BK? If yes, it could take 15-20 yrs to get back in. If no, depending on CH7 or CH13, could take 7 or 10 years. Definitely has to fall off your report.

No. I haven't had an AMEX before.
In my opinion it's actually easier to get a charge card like the AMEX Gold or Green, than a revolver.
After about 3mo. if your EX score is 650 or better try for one of the charge cards.

I think you pulled the trigger a little too soon. I believe that with Amex, it has to be a minimum of 5 years post-bk.
