AMEX HP for Decline after successful approval

I've been reading this board and I just wanted to put it out there that I did not experience what others have with AMEX.  I applied and was approved for the AMEX BCE card, I then tried to get the business card while signed into my new account with AMEX and accidently applied twice.  I now have a SP and TWO HP on my credit report.  When I called up AMEX and asked about it because I accidently type the wrong info into the application (wrong SS#) and accidently applied twice I was hoping I could get it changed but they would not even discuss it and told me they (AMEX) have no choice about HP or SP but that it was done by Law and they cant change anything.  Any suggestions on how I might get at least one of the HP off my report?

Sorry that happened man, kinda stinks. But I cannot be 100% you can actually do something about it. On the forums this was asked alot

But you could certainly try disputing it through the CR's. Hey if they say no it was just a phone call right? I have tried writing letters to remove ones that I had accidentally done twice for the same product and was not succesful..
