AMEX PRG question

Ok, not apping, I promise, but I found something interesting after reading another thread. I have app’d before (12-2015) for an AMEX Everyday credit card and got denied. I used their pre-qual tool and it said the Everyday or the Blue Cash. Once I got denied I let it go. I do go back from time to time and use the tool just for fun.

Anyway I recently got a Cap 1 Spark Classic card, the 1st one for my business. A few days later I got an e-mail from AMEX offering me a PRG for my business with the 50K points bonus but I never applied. Today I was reading another thread in CC approvals and saw someone mention the prequal tool so I went and tried it again. This time the PRG came up in the middle. Is the PRG easier to get than the other 2 and is it considered “getting in with AMEX”? I only ask because my score has not changed but the tool is throwing that in the mix now.

Re: AMEX PRG question

The charge cards are easier to obtain then their credit cards mainly due to the fact its a PIF card. I would think it would mean that your getting in.

That could be. I was previously opt'd out from a very long time ago. the first time I used the tool it told me I had opt'd out. Could be that they rversed that. Especially since I seems to be getting emails from them again.
