AMEX Pre-Qual Question

Everytime I logged onto my AMEX account online it would not show me any offers I was pre-qual for, even though my scores are consistently going up, now its showing 5 pre-qual offers: Platinum, Gold, BC Everyday, BC Preferred, and Amex Every Day. I want to pull the trigger on the Platinum due to the amazing perks, but Blue Cash Preferred has good benefits as well. Question is, can you apply for more than one at the same time or will it only let me get one this time around? I currently have an Amex Delta Reserve card that I pay off every month.

Yes, you can apply for both the charge card and revolver -- even on the same day.  Choose wisely, though.

Re: AMEX Pre-Qual Question

You certainly could apply for more than one but the second time usually is less than confirmed. Amex is using soft pull and they are using the score from their internal system since their last update of your Experian credit score. I am not doing this but that is what I read before on this forums.  Some applicants open two applications at the same time, filled them separately and submited them. Not sure Amex has an update on their system to detect whichever changes comes first would affect the second application regardless of two open applications due to timesamp received on its database. So regardless of two open applications, the timestamp would indicate you have two seperate applications. Just a thought. Yes, choose wisely. Good luck.

Re: AMEX Pre-Qual Question

Just wanted to provide an update- I applied right after we closed on my new home and I was denied for all of them, so I guess the pre-qual on their site isn't that accurate.

Curious, though, you mentioned that you logged into AmEx. Do you already have any AmEx cards?  If you were applying (not signed in), yes it's been reported the pre-qualification tool is not 100% reliable.
