Hi All!
Has AMEX always given you a choice to accept a card or withdraw application from checking pre-approvals? It's been a while since I last checked for their pre-approved cards so I wasn't sure if AMEX has made changes.

It's not always been this way. I believe they've incorporated their "apply with confidence" feature previously only available to new customers to their pre-approvals for existing card holders. I think it's a nice feature to see if you're approved without a HP (good chance it's only a SP for existing card holders), would be even nicer if they gave you the SL too before you had to make a decision to accept.
believe they are making changes to rewards as well such as bonus up to 150k mr's or up to 100k hilton points language and will tell you what you actually will get and can withdrawl if not mistaken if you dont get bonus you want. This is a newer change I have seen on DOC, etc.

yeah it's a relatively recent change
I too would appreciate seeing the SL, but given how easy Amex will raise CL's, I've come around with them not showing that information

They are giving you warning if you don't qualify for the SUB ( I opened to many cards with them and received too many subs in a year timeframe) and they will allow you to reject the offer. I have never received another HP after my first card with them. They always use a SP for me now. This was for a personal loan with them too.
