AMEX Preferred CLI Question

Hi folks. I have 4 cards from AMEX. Platinum, Gold, Bevi and Preffered. Scores across the board are 765. All cards have 0 balance. 

I've had the charge cards since 2019 and the other two for a year now. I was 22 days late on my AMEX Gold card this past month. 2 years ago I was late on the platinum card 6 days. 

I was denied a CLI on my Preffered card today. Reason because I was past due with an account with AMEX. 

How long should I wait to request another CLI for my Preffered card?

The late payment would have put you into the penalty box.  if there are no more penalties you should expect to be there for 12 months, after which you'd be eligible to be considered for CLIs.

Late is late if paid after a card issuer's due date. 30 days is just when it gets reported as late on CR's. Please let us know the outcome if you decide to go for it. Good Luck

A year sounds right. You may wish to set up your CC with a minimum auto pay to avoid  any future issues.

I definitely second this. It also saves you a lot of time, especially when you have a lot of cards
