AMEX Prequal?

I got a AMEX prequal in th mail a few days ago and it is for the Blue Cash Everyday card, and the APR after the intro is for 13.24% which is way better than anything else they've ever offered me.  BUT I just got approved for a Discover card a few days back so I'm not sure if that new inquiry would hurt my chances of getting it? I've applied with them before and got denied (luckily they didn't put a hard inquiry on my report for it). Not sure what to do!

Amex is not inquiry sensitive. Try the prequalification on their site just to validate the offer too.

Also, a lot of people say to apply for one of their easier cards, like a charge card, or Delta Gold first. Then, once you are approved, you can try for the card you want. I'm saying this because, if you are declined, they automatically decline any other apps in that 30 day window. Then you would need to wait another 30 days to try again. But, once you're approved for that first card, it seems it is a lot easier to get approved for other cards in that timeframe. Also, they use the same hardpull.

Oh that's the other thing I forgot to add, when I do the prequal on the website it comes up with the Gold Card, Premier Rewards Gold Card, and Green card. But no blue cash everyday. I may just wait, but thanks for the info! Smiley Happy

I got pre approval on the web 2 weeks ago for blue cash preferd and blue cash i also have a mail with green card offer . But i have 13 hp 9 moths in the garden and my utl is 30 %

If you have a pre-qual for a card with Amex, I would say you have a good chance of being approved for one of the Blue Cash cards, even if the pre-qual isn't specifically for one of them. 

 

I got my own BCP with no pre-qual offers at all (also got the Green card the same day as well - again, no offers).  Smiley Wink

The 13.24% APR is the lowest offered. This sounds like a solid pre qual.

Yeah I tried for the delta gold card first and was approved. That same day I got the gold and platinum charge cards and the every day blue card and it was all just one inquiry.

I applied for the BCE and got it earlier this week, wish I would have known about getting more than one for only one inquiry then! Oh well
