AMEX Recon Help

My wife applied and unfortunately was declined for the Amex BCE. we tried calling the number on the denial letter but the first rep said they don’t do reconsiderations. We found another number and the person said they can do a manual review but we don’t get to talk to the analyst and it May involved another hard pull.

Anybody have any pointers or insight? Thanks!

I tried their recon. Still denied, Did not know about having a credit history of minimum 6 months for BCE. Just wasted a couple of HP when I first started my credit journey. But I am much better position of not making noob mistakes now.

Amex is thin file friendly. They do require a FICO score, which means 6mo of credit history. They pull Experian.

What is her EX FICO? Credit history length?

Check out the reviews of the BCE on Credit Karma. The top review gives some great tips. Also, read some of the posts in the thread. There are a lot of good first hand experiences posted.
