AMEX app message "We'll process......."

Evening all,

I just wanted to share something that I went through a little while ago now, but, at that time I wasn't apart of this great forum.

If you are applying for your first or another card with AMEX and you get this message,

"We'll process your application as soon as possible and send you a decision within 14 days"

Do not become discouraged this is not necessarily a prelude to a decline.

I got the message when applying for the AMEX gold card and was a little confused by it, as I was expecting the congratulations message. 

I called and talked with a CSR and they said that if further checks need to be made this is what you will see, in mycase they just needed to verify it was actually me who was applying for the card.

 

As you can see by my sig all went well and my AMEX relationship grew.

Hi OP

The same thing happened to me but as soon as I received the 14-day email, I remembered my EX was frozen.

I unfroze it and the very next day I received an email saying I had been approved.
