Hmm, website still says "pending."  I guess I'll have to call back to find out what is going on.  I hope this does not mean they are going to deny me.

Same thing happen to me in the past

AMEX RULE: Only 1 revolver app every 5 days, once the 5 days window ends for the first applied card, Amex will gladly process the second app seperately WITH another hard pull. The verifcation DOES NOT mean you are denied in the least bit. Hope that helps/ good luck!

Oh my goodness!  I'm so sorry everyone .... I know this is extememly late, but I did get approved - however, I was not able to get the 3X increase like so many have talked about. I've tried more than once and have had no luck - but I'm in the AMEX family so that's what matters. As my score continues to increase, I'll try again once I get to 750.
