AMEX question...

Apped for BCE today and was approved for $8k.  Does AMEX use the same hard pull for a certain amount of days?  I was wondering just in case I wanted to apply for the Delta Gold card thru them.  I was prequalified for that one as well but went the route of the BCE.  Thank you.

I know when I got mine, after approved for the first card I applied for the second and was approved. Only one HP

When I applied in April of this year for my AMEX BCP (credit card), I was approved instantly and then about 45 minutes later applied for the AMEX PRG (charge card) and was approved instantly as well with only one HP.

Great info and thanks to you both.  JGGM, did you apply the same day for your second AMEX card?  If so, how long after your first one was approved?  Its 2.5hrs since I was approved for my BCE.  Thanks again!!

You will not get the second card instantly. Amex will approve i revolver  plus 2 charge cards on the same day, but if you apply for 2 revolvers, such as bce and Delta for example, your second app will go to hold for 5 days before they even consider it. For security reasons they do not approve 2 revolvers back to back. You can apply anyway, and wait for that hold period, or wait a week and then apply for the second revolver. Second HP with Amex is usually soft pull if you have an account and you are denied, and HP if you are approved. In your case, being so close, it may be just a soft pull. Lately there are people with existing Amex accounts, reporting an app being approved without the HP ever showing up. YMWV.

Ok now I have a better understanding so thanks for the info.  I might as well wait the 5 days and apply for the Delta card if I choose to.  Still looking at other travel cards...

If you travel heavily and can afford it, there's no better AMEX than the Platinum!!
