AMEX "Applying to extend your membership is easy" message a sign of bad chances?

Pondering apping for another credit card with Amex. Im almost 9 years post bk7 and did include them in bk. Have since as of earlier this year got back in with them and got the Gold card and the Everyday Preferred in my first go round with them and then latter on apped for and got the Green Card and the BBP card.

When I check the credit cards after logging in I get the above message but of course when I click on the Platinum I get the already approved verbiage. Is the "Applying to extend your membership is easy" verbiage a sign of bad chances of approval or not so much?

given your current limits and cards I would doubt you'd be denied.

you might not be given more credit, they might pull credit from your other cards.

you might not get a SUB, you'll get a message confirming this and confirming if you still want to continue after being told you won't get a SUB

but I doubt you'll be denied. I get the same pre-approval on charge cards, but no pre-approval on credit cards as well.

if you apply in private browsing, you can still take advantage of the no HP unless approved (apply with confidence) language to make sure there's no HP unless approved. And probably not even a HP after approved as a current customer, but there could be.

It is the benign message to current members and can go one of three ways (all of which I've experienced): approval, approval with no SUB, denial. But since you're a member it's 99% chance of SP, so pretty much just go for it. The other typical message is "You're approved." However, late last night I got a hybrid for the Biz Gold: the "easy" language, but once hitting Apply, below the button read Accept, not Submit. So I did and posted in the Biz Credit channel. I guess everyone should be aware of this third possibility as well. Good luck with whatever path you take!

It straight-up means you weren't preapproved.   Does not specifically mean 'bad chances of approval' but odds aren't as good as if you got a 'EAT_SLEEP_JEEP, you're preapproved!" message.

I did the apply with confidence as suggested and it appears im in the dreaded pop up jail. Even did it with the Platinum which it says I am approved for already and no SUB pop up.

Tried multiple times with various tricks and always the same result. Going to sit back for a little bit before trying again and roll more spending across the Amex cards. I suspect it could be that right about the time we met the SUB on the Gold and the BBP cards I got the NFCU Flagship and we diverted most all our spend to that card the last 2.5 months or so to meet its SUB and also to pave the way for a good CLI on it at 91 days and a hopeful approval for the More Rewards card at that time.
