AMEX still SP current cardholders on new apps?

I've heard that once your a AMEX cardholder that on new applications its a soft pull if your denied and only a HP if approved. Now I know rules like that are never 100% and there will be exceptions. But for the most part is it still accurate? Also would I have to sign into my account first or does that not matter? Thank you

It won't matter if you log in first or no, or even if you use an incogintio browser.  Once you enter your SSN and they rest of your information it'll recognize you as a current cardmember and even ask you which of your card accounts you want them to pull for information on.

I have had the Delta Gold since July and Delta Platinum since August.  I app'd for the Hilton HHonors Reserve on 11/19 and was declined by 11/22.  I check my reports on CCT every day and I have not seen a HP come through yet.  I think it's safe to say at this point I was declined without a HP, although that's no guarantee that as a current member you'll get a SP if declined.
