I've had a few AMEX cards before and been looking at dipping back into those waters. After dancing around the preapprovals page for months, I've seen several better-than-average SUBs. Today, if I'm not mistaken, all my offers are above-average!
Is this my imagination or is everyone seeing these higher offers?
Or are these high offers?
Are there better ones that someone could reasonably receive?
Overall, this is probably the most enticing set of offers I've ever received personally, although I think I've heard of some selected higher spot ones. While I have other credit objectives, I'm debating if now is maybe the time to pull the trigger after all.
Thoughts?
Browser page is still open for now.
*The two most appropriate to profile would be the BCP and Gold.
75K MR points on Platinum ($5K spend in 3 months)
50K MR points on Gold ($4K spend in 3 months)
45K MR points on Green ($2K spend in 3 months)
$300 Cash SUB on Blue Cash Preferred ($1K spend in 3 months)

They are not record-breaking, but they are all elevated and very good offers. There would be NO shame in grabbing any of them.
Friends don't let friends mix and match cash back and MRs, though. So choose a side.

Thanks, K!
I had hoped you'd chime in since I know you know your travel cards and AMEX. That's kinda what I thought ... elevated but not record breaking. Still, better offers than they've been showing me overall.
So, what would you say the standard and record-breaking offers would be on each card in the past year or two?

Guilty here! But I only stray when I need a V/MC or can get 5%+.
I think 125k Platinum has been reported. I'd hold out for at least 100k there as a newly-returning-to-Amex customer.

I have heard of the 100K to 125K SUB on Platinum, but that seems to be pretty rare and targeted, from my understanding. Is that correct?
And the 50K on Gold is better than average. I think 35K is standard offer now. How high has anyone seen it go?

I've heard of 75k, not sure of the details. I think there has also been 65k over two years.*
*40k+ 25k at renewal
60-40-30 on the charge cards and $250 on the revolver are the current referral offers and those are pretty much inline with standard offers. Waiting for a 100k on Platinum or 75k on Gold can be an exercise in futility but they do come up.
IIRC the 125k on Platinum may have been a targeted link that was shared and ripe for claw-back?

I actually see only 35k on the Gold, not 40k. But I had PRG from 2014-2016 so AFAIK I'm not eligible for another 12 months or so.
Maybe I'm using my WWFCR too much and neglecting Amex cards after taking Schwab retention. No apps imminent, though.

If you have a player 2. You can get 20k referral + 50k SUB for 70k MR total for the Gold and 95k MR for the Platinum. ![]()
