Hi there, have a friend just get a $25K ED and a $1K BCE. 9 days apart, 1 pull. cards were activated the same day and $5K was moved from the ED to the BCE via a CSR the day of activation. is the 61 day cli going to be an attempt for $3K or $18K is the question. I have heard conflicting answers which is why I am posting. side note, for some reason there was an initial hold on part of the limits, the ed was stuck at $10K and the BCE @ $1K after the cl move. the CSRs @ 800-230-1284 are incredibly helpful, appears to be us based, English speaking. I mean really really helpful and professional the ed fixed itself and a CSR fixed the BCE in >5 min today. Thank you

There’s a whole lot of factors that go into the CLI. Going from 20k to 60K might be tricky and might trigger a FR. if your friends income and profile supports it and he has no problem sending Amex the documents to prove his income. Go for it.
He could also ask for a 3X on the lower limit card instead. Much more likely to get that increase for the full 3X.
Also he might reach his exposure limit with Amex trying to go for 60K.
Also one CLI across all Amex accounts every 6 months. So if he asks for one at 61 days and gets it. He can’t get any more CLI on any Amex account for 6 months
lol one of us needs more coffee and its not me ha-ha. my only query was is a 3x cli based on the initial starting limit or a limit that was manually created after the card was issued
amex chat just said original limit so there you have it

Yeah I drank way too much coffee this morning when I wrote that.
It’s the original limit
@Anonymous all good. might not be the amount, might be the type. current limit would be too good to be true I guess. sounds like he bce barely made it @ $1K so it will be interesting to see what if anything she gets. going to have her pif on the statement dates and let 2 cuts go by and then cli the thing. 52 year woman with a 1 year old $ 500 credit one card. I gave her a $30K ed au card, her score went up 35 pts and she was slammed with pre-quals 4 days later. so much for aus not doing much huh
