? About changing a Cap1 Journey to Venture

Gah.  I am striking out this week!

My wallet:

Cap1 Journey (12/13): 1,800

Cap1 Qs Mastercard (3/14): 1,500

Chase Freedom (5/14): 3,000

Chase CSP (12/14): 8,000

I would like to move my Journey to a Venture.  It would probably serve me better because I don't really need the card anymore and the 1% cash back as it is my least beneficial now.  To top it off I star a clinical rotation on Monday and I won't be going ANYWHERE for a year and a half but I can collect points and take the family on a trip or two when I'm done.  I wasn't sure if an 1,800 limit would do it for me and I was due for another CLI so I made the request and was immediately approved for...$4,800.  Are you KIDDING me?!

Shy of 5k can I have it moved to a Venture?  I think I need to have my QS moved to a Visa in a few months as well.

In the garden until October 2015!

Journey began 12/13

You may be able to PC into a Venture..

But why not just apply for one instead to get the bonus?

Re: ? About changing a Cap1 Journey to Venture

I read somewhere that I can only have 2 Cap1 cards...is that true?

I'm kinda bleeding HP's....at least by my terms.  I just closed on a house that had a title that was a HOT MESS and it took WAY too long so I took 2 triple pulls on the mortgage alone....and I have 2 new Chase cards (2 triple pulls)....- and basically I everything I have is new.  ugh!

Two low end CapOne cards. Two high end.

Re: ? About changing a Cap1 Journey to Venture

So obviously my journey is a low end...and my QS mastercard is a low end as well?

And the Venture would be their high end and well as the QS Visa??

You may be able to PC, but you will likely have to contact the Capital One EO because their regular CSR's can't really do anything action wise, they just read from scripts and say no.

Re: ? About changing a Cap1 Journey to Venture

I think it'd be easier to just app for the card so you can still get the bonus and the benefit of a potentially higher limit from CapOne. I've read Credit Pulls stats on the card and they seem really generous with that one.

Tradelines: Macy’s - $18k, Penfed Power Cash Rewards - $10k, Ethan Allen (TD Bank) - $5.7k, Kay Jewelers - $5.5k, Appliances Connection - $5.3k, Jared - $5.25k, Best Buy (Citi) - $5k, Dell Preferred Account - $3.5k, Samsung - $3.2k, Firestone CFNA - $3.2k, Capital One Platinum - $3k, Mercury MC - $2.25k, Williams Sonoma - $2.1k, Wayfair (Fortiva) - $2k, Amazon Store Card - $1.8k, Apple Card - $1.7k, NFCU cashRewards - $1.5k, CareCredit - $1.5k, B&H Photo - $1.5k, Adorama - $1.25k, Ebay MC - $1k, Sam’s Club MC - $1k, American Eagle - $1k, Ollo MC - $600, Mission Lane Visa - $500, NY & Company - $500, Walgreens - $500, Home Depot - $500, Target RED Card - $500, CapOne Secured MC 0 AF - $500, Penfed Overdraft LOC - $500

Current FICOS: Mid 640s-50s on all reports, Ch 7 BK D/C Aug 2019
Starting scores: EX - 534, EQ - 574, TU - 516 | Total TLs: $91k approx | Total Utilization: 17%, getting this back down

Re: ? About changing a Cap1 Journey to Venture

Yeah.  I just found that out the hard way!  Spent 20 minutes with them this morning with a guy who barely spoke English and he said....that no offer is available at this time.

Geez!  I have a pre-approval for that card!  I'm going to have to start considering {Edited-MarineVietVet, myFICO moderator} here because I don't know exactly where I stand but I have 4 mortgage triple pulls (1 from 18 months ago, 1 from a broker I didn't use, 2 from the closing process) 2 chase multi-pulls.....ugh.  And I don't have anything over 14 months old in my wallet.  It's bad.  REALLY bad.  To even think about looking at how many HP's I have gives me an anxiety attack.
