Absurd CALIFORNIA CREDIT UNION (CCU) Denial reason (Recon pending)

Hey all ! So I recently apped for CCU after reading on here they use solely EQ for credit -- my only bureau fully unfrozen and refelcitng my true profile as the other 2 have fraud accounts still in dispute (EQ removed fast!).

Here are my stats for context:

FICO8: 705 (Today* more on this later)

Inqs: 4

Income: $250k+
NO DEROGS

AAofA 15 years

UTIL 60% **** BUT .....

The shocker -- they denied becasue on of my cards shows maxed out almost on a $500 limit (all others paid in full or 5% UTIL) !! My ARRO card. The kicker is that they also cited high UTIL, but I am AU on two cards that my ex had and are maxed out each $30k!!!  BUT!!! EQ removed them both today right after CCU pulled the report ! EQ Exec Office is amazing and the lady removed them both on the phone with me today, now showing my overall UTIL 3% !!!!! SO, I was told with my UTIL dropping from 60% to 3% my FICO may go over 800 !!!! We will see !

But the CCU is reconing and I await their word -- if they still deny that is insane given i even uploaded proof i paid the ARRO to $0 weeks ago.
Any advice to add if they have anymore questions? The AU accounts are GONE as of noon today showing my new UTIL (total CLs about $10k now) of 3% WOOOOOO!!!

Thanks in advance all !

Honestly, I can't fault them for denying you if they are reviewing a report with 3 maxed out cards, regardless of the CL or the AU status. You removed yourself from the negative AU accounts. Best move of the day. You also paid the low CL card down. Ideally that would have been done  prior to applying for anything, and allowed to report as such. Don't know if the actions you took today will give them additional information for the recon since they already pulled your report. If they have to go back in, will that be an additional pull?

Thanks friend!

I just pulled my EQ fico and the AU accounts are gone and my fico is now .... 791 !!!!! I'm stunned !!! So mad I didn't know I could remove myself from AU or I would've this AM !

I have a VP at the CU working to get this done for me because my email about my situation went to the corporate team -- I've granted them access to SP my EQ to see the AU are gone. Once that stubborn Arro card updates as pif I'm hoping to cross 800. I did provide them proof it's been paid too, so I'm really hoping for an approval and a healthy one !

I will  update here !! Thank you kindly !

You gained 100 points on your fico score just from going from 60% to 0%, that's amazing!

Early in my rebuild I would consistently see 100 point swings on my fico 8 as well, but that was from going from 100% to 0%. I only had 1 card at that time. So seeing that much of a reward from a 60% change is awesome congrats.

A lot of people say that fico scores are not that volatile and you will only see like a 70 point change max from big util changes, I always disagreed with that just because of my experience but it's nice to see someone else reap the benefits as well.

i wonder how much of a swing you got on your vantage scores since those are much more volatile to util changes.
