Hello,
continuing with the same details but different topic.
So, the card will be in my address in about 10 days. But i need to pay the rent of the apartment i just aquired. I can the pay the rent with my mate's help, but then will need something else for utilities. It has to been done in 2 days, thats the reservation for initial deposit threshold provided by the landlord.
Can i call AMEX for the card activation prior to recieving it in mail?
Any kind of suggestion will be apprciated, whether its bad or good.
Thanks
Others may more about this subject than I do, but I don't think they will do it. It's really a matter of protecting your account and security. when I applied and was apporoved for my AMEX cards, one of the last steps was to give me an option for a temporary card number and security code to make charges before the card arrived. I did not choose that option, but I know they do initially offer that option.
I hope it works out for you.

This pretty much and the option to get a temporary card number with a reduced limit to work with is only offered immediately after application and approval of your new card; think you have a very short time to write down the info before the screen moves on to the next step. After that I don't think customer service can do much for you except to tell you to wait for the card to arrive in the mail.
Congrats on getting that clearedup with AMEX. As far as trying to rush to be able to make charges before the physical card arrives I can see it spooking AMEX given the issues you've already had.
If it'll help any, I applied for my AMEX card late on a Sunday afternoon and received it Thursday of the same week.
If you receive a message on the approval screen with the card # and temporary PIN, you can use it.
