Affinity Cu Cash Rewards denial

Recently was approved for membership over  month ago, via hp, and applied from cc at some time . Never heard back after initial application so decided to reapply last week just to test the waters. I do this with all new CUs I join and know very well denial almost always certain with my profile but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Got a call this morning from a pleasant chap and went over my app. Explained to him why  I have a fraud alert and as per usual was being denied due to dti. I fully understood this lol as I told him why my debt is so high. Credit is  good I was told but just my dti. I'm actually happy they reached out and let me know, of course having the fraud alert helps , but  I've applied before with them and got ghosted so felt good after convo. Will be in credit dog house for awhile  with my debt but  it was worth a try.  Garden is where I need to remain for a long time maybe one day I'll get this cardSmiley Wink

Yes @AverageJoesCredit. I would keep them on your 'return and try again list' since they were courteous with you in reaching out and doing discussion that they would like your business at some point. Good effort on your part to set up the membership and test the possibility. If even for a future date when you can catch up to them with stats they might take up in your favor. Not all CU's do. I just canned PSECU & in the process of dumping BECU as well as DCU for various reasons, one of them proving their lack of member interest.

Hang in there. There are still those that don't take members for granted as only a keystroke or screen view playground to suit a 9-5 day job tour.

Thank you @CreditMagic7  sometimes I app when I really shouldn't but I think  in the end   having some options is better than not.  I definetly want to axe DCU and Service. Langley  most likely as well.  I know that it's important to have money, assets or just low debt to get much from lenders but I just would like the opportunity to create some history with my lenders even if it's small but unfortunately some lenders don't even give that opportunity  .  I'm going to chalk this one up to a goal card along with a US Bank, if only to be able to achieve one lol. Stay safe and keep up the MAGICSmiley Happy

AJC,

Sorry to hear about the denial, but hang in there! There is a new credit union with a card that has your name on it!

Thanks GuySmiley Happy. Yeah I just posted this denial  so at least ya'll would think I'm human lol. Just kidding. Nah it's OK though.  I need another cc like I need a 3rd eye but    yeah I'm sure one daySmiley Happy. The local ones here are no good. Good thing Penfed has started to open up and I actually have 2 branches here.   At least if ever go Stateside I have options lol...VA, NJ, PA, etc. What I need is a west side one 😆

AJC,

It must be nice to have a PenFed near you.  The nearest one to me is 4 hours away.  Do wish there was one closer.

Better luck in future @AverageJoesCredit

Keep an eye out around the beginning of Q3 for an offer if they changed their mind and your ratios improve to their liking...

Thank you @cashorcharge  don't think much will change though as  my personal debt is pretty high in comparison to my income but the debt I have on Navy is the dagger.. if all goes well and we pay the minimum for next 5 years that should be paid off but yeah 5 years is a long time in this crazy 🌎  of oursSmiley Wink. But who knows in a couple months ,  at least my debt should be lower ...I hopeSmiley Wink

Wow yeah that's a whiles away. I don't have a Navy branch anywhere close to me lol. Funny thing is I haven't actually gone in to a branch here and I hear it's actually better to get things from online Penfed than in person hereSmiley Wink. Go figureSmiley Happy
